More than 30 people were killed and another 117 were wounded by in a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumy on Sunday, officials said, in one of the deadliest attacks on Ukraine this year.
Moscow's forces fired two ballistic missiles into the heart of the city Sunday morning as people gathered to celebrate Palm Sunday, according to Ukrainian officials. At least 34 people died in the airstrike, including two children, they said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack in a post on X and called for a tough international reaction against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
